Dr. Lesley Laing is Associate Professor in Social Work and Policy Studies at the University of Sydney, where her teaching and research focus on violence against women and children.  Grounded in feminist theories and methodologies, her research is participatory and privileges the voices of those most vitally affected by public policy – the victim/survivors of violence and the practitioners who work with them. Lesley was the founding Director of both the Australian Domestic and Family Violence Clearinghouse and the NSW Health Education Centre against Violence (ECAV).  She is the co-author with Cathy Humphreys of the book: Social Work and Domestic Violence: Developing Critical and Reflective Practice.
