Ending Men´s Violence Against Women:
A Feminist Vision For Everyone
Hanna and Peter will ground their presentation in the history of feminism in Sweden (1970-2015), through which men’s violence against women was made visible as a human rights violation and public health problem. Swedes have made considerable progress by improving the state response in health care and municipal government, and by engaging the shelter movement. But the movement still faces intense challenges to the vision of a gender equal society free from gender-based violence, and all this implies. Today, male feminists, such as “men for gender equality”, have a crucial role to play by cooperating with feminist activists to achieve real structural change.
